Day 2 & 3

Africa continues to surprise me. I have laughed but also cried at some of the stories.

The camp is approx 45 miles away from our hotel along a road that has the biggest pot holes I have ever seen and we emerge from the journey looking slightly orange. Along the way the children wave and call greetings with the biggest smiles. We are greeted by singing handshakes lovely smiles and enthusiasm which is infectious. The number of attendees each day have increased as the ladies have been keeping us fed with home grown vegetables and rice.

Can’t upload photos at the moment, but will do soon!

Down to business

Due to connectivity issues my days are merging but see attached

Photos of the plane and our arrival at Moyo.

I have been blown away by the kindness of all of the people that we have met and the support from the Bishop and his team.

So what’s happened?

After being allowed in we arrived near our destination. We savoured the local high street and were followed by our 3 4×4’s (reminded me of the secret service in Hollywood films).

Then travelled to our destination Moribi -zone 2 called Mascedonia. 71 signed up but we ended up with over 80.

The enthusiasm and willingness to learn was humbling as was the fantastic lunch that was made by a group of women in scorching heat.

We also managed to hold a women’s clinic and ended the day exhausted followed by our journey back to our hotel.

We have arrived in Moyo

The flight was fab and the welcome at the bishops house was very moving with much dancing and inspirational speeches.

We are now at our hotel and we had no internet but also no electricity upon arrival. Limited access now so sorry no pictures.

We had no lunch but the beer kept us going until food arrived. Prep continues on the workshop material and we have an early start tomorrow.
